These nice people are concerned about the Atlantic Yards situation.

This is the performance artist known as Fleur de Lys. Although I am part of the elite inner circle that knows her real name, I cannot reveal it here. I had to go through a whole ritual with aligators, and there was this guy on a flat-bottomed swamp boat dressed up like Santa.
It looks like there are seven people sitting at that table, but those glasses are all hers.
This pizza/wine place was supposed to show Bottle Shock on the wall at 7:30, but the sun didn’t go down until about 9, so they waited.
Here’s the Sommelier, giving a preamble about the movie, and trying to keep everyone there until sundown. He was a nice guy and it’s a really nice restaurant. But we just didn’t want to wait that long.
This was some kind of grill at the street fair. I just thought it looked cool. Like a torpedo bay, or something. What with the rust and the bulky wheel, you can almost see it as a weapon that got lugged around in an old war. And then one day it’s used to stow this top-secret warhead that’s way ahead of its time, and the guy who hid the warhead inside of it escapes by using it to transport into the present. But now he can never go back, so he’s stuck using it to make hot dogs for kids. It could save a whole race of people, and people just walk by without even… god, it’s just such a travesty.
This is a really cool old desk that has been sitting on this corner on Smith for a week. It’s too awesome for someone not to take it, and yet it’s too heavy for anyone to move. Plus, as you can see, everyone was walking around with open containers of beer, like we were in New Orleans or something.
You see those women off to the right? They’re waiting in line to sit on the desk so that they can be photographed too. They tried to pay me to do it, but I was like, No, you’ll have to have someone else do it. Then one of them got whiny, and Fleur clocked her.
These people are selling old fashioned soda pop. I didn’t buy any, because I was carrying a beer that I bought at a bar like three blocks away.
At Angry Wade’s we saw the USA briefly pull ahead of Brazil in the World Cup. It didn’t last, but there were some great moments.
I have to admit that I’m not really sure where I saw this typewriter. But it was in, or near, the street fair somewhere. I thought it was cool. Something about old typewriters… they look so complex, as if they can actually do other things besides type, and if you type on them long enough, get to know every key and lever, you’ll eventually figure it out.
Watch Fleur’s performance as Wolf Girl in this bizarre Trojan commercial.
