Revolving Floor, a new site of which I am publisher, launched two days ago.
Revolving Floor is, among other things:
- A magazine that publishes original art in various genres, including personal essays, cartoons, poetry, one-act plays, short stories, digital illustrations, and acrobatic guerilla performance videos.
- A curated community blog.
- A public forum for discussion of issues related to the work that we publish.
- A platform for established artists to try out new work, of which they retain ownership (RF buys only first publication rights, like a print magazine).
- A permanent, sponsor-friendly hub that generates a variety of original, quality content around a different topic, every single month.
Revolving Floor is a big deal to me personally, as it represents the coming together of various aspects of my life, both personal and professional:
- My experience producing and optimizing sponsored websites at Federated Media.
- My experience as the head of the online media planning and buying department at Fly Communications.
- My experience in web analytics, ad operations, ad sales, and software development at CondeNet (now basically rebranded as CondeNast Digital).
- My MFA in Cinema-Television (screenwriting track) from the University of Southern California.
- My English Lit. BA from the University of Kansas.
- A lifetime of building relationships with intelligent, creative, accomplished people.
There are a lot of really amazing people involved in Revolving Floor. A new piece of content will be rolled out about every other day in August, with the goal being to have daily updates starting in the near future. If you find me interesting enough to read this blog, then please spend some time on Revolving Floor, and check back regularly as it grows and develops.
