		<description>Thanks for your analysis of the emotional problems with the movie---yes, the tragedy-of-infertility emotional complexity of Child is oversimplified, whereas the Powell character&#039;s emotions, as you point out, would benefit from clearer, if perhaps not simpler, treatment.  The movie doesn&#039;t take a stand on whether her malaise is pathological or simply situational, and it also doesn&#039;t give the viewer enough information to come to his/her own conclusions on this fairly important distinction.  I read Powell&#039;s book a couple of years ago, so maybe I&#039;m misremembering, but I don&#039;t remember quite this much unhappiness, presumably because her book was based on the in-the-moment blog, whereas the movie was more retrospective, which might make a difference in terms of what Powell became willing to share.  (?)  Anyway, when you read it, let me know if there&#039;s a lot of unhappiness in the book that I&#039;ve simply forgotten.</description>
